The Style of Big Data
Lecture given at the Staedelschule Architecture Class (SAC)
Lecture Series, Frankfurt

Text Synopsis
In this lecture, Carpo will address 'big data' not as a mere quantitative phenomenon. ‘Big data’ represents a major shift in the history of science, technology and post-modern culture at large.
It allows digital designers to compose and engage with the messiness of some natural processes without going through the traditional mediation of abstract and general mathematical theories and patterns.
